Key Features
Intuitive User Interface
The Version Manager graphical client has been
designed to be as easy to use as possible. Using an Explorer style interface means that the organisation of your Projects,
Folders and Files is immediately obvious, with history information simply a click away.
HTML notes can be attached to files and folders, and access to any Bugs and Issues associated
with your files are also simply a click away.
Powerful Command Line
In order to help automate Version Manager processes, you can use the built-in
command line tool.
An extensive set of commands allows access to almost all functionality of Version Manager. The command-line documentation is
installed by default, and can also be viewed here.
Trigger Support and Comprehensive API
Need to be notified when files are checked in? Need to
access to Version Manager from within your internal build tools?
Version Manager fully supports both client and server-side triggers, and also includes a very
comprehensive API (Win32 and .NET) to help you automate and control your development and
build processes.
Full API documentation can be found here, and sample triggers and addins can be found
here
Integrates with your Development Tools
Team Coherence
Version Manager is designed to
integrate directly with your existing development tools. With full support for the Microsoft Source Code Control (SCC) API,
Version Manager can be integrated with the many tools and editors that support this standard.
Codegear Rad Studio integration is also included. The source code for which, and an example of using the API, can be
downloaded from here.
Easy to Install and Low Maintenance
Runs on standard hardware: Team
Coherence Server does not require dedicated hardware, and client workstations do not need upgrading to run Team Coherence.
In addition, Team Coherence's networking is not a significant load for a typical LAN/WAN. Team Coherence can usually be
deployed without the purchase of any additional hardware.
Near Zero Administration: With little need for customization or configuration, Team Coherence can be up
and running in minutes. Other than backup, it can simply be a case of install and forget.
